About St. Luke’s Lutheran Church & School
St. Luke’s Lutheran Church & School is a Christ-centered community in Oviedo, Florida, committed to forming students who grow spiritually, academically, and relationally. Serving children from early childhood through eighth grade, the school partners closely with the church to provide a holistic education rooted in faith, excellence, and care for the whole child.
With a strong emphasis on individualized learning and spiritual formation, St. Luke’s is guided by the belief that every child is an unrepeatable miracle of God. The ministry’s impact is made possible through dedicated faculty, staff, church leadership, and families working together to steward its mission with integrity and purpose.

The need
St. Luke’s Lutheran Church & School was seeking a Superintendent to provide unified leadership across both church and school during an important season of growth and opportunity. This role required more than strong educational leadership. It called for a leader with deep Lutheran experience, the ability to align multiple ministries, and the wisdom to lead a complex organization with clarity and care.
The School Board and church leadership were intentional about finding someone who could honor St. Luke’s theological foundation, strengthen operational and financial systems, and build trust with staff, families, and congregational leadership. Lutheran formation was essential, not optional, and cultural fit mattered just as much as professional experience.
The Vanderbloemen difference
Executive Search Consultant Eric Albert and Executive Search Recruiter Kamia Morris partnered closely with St. Luke’s leadership to understand the distinct dynamics of the church and school, as well as the specific Lutheran qualifications required for the role.
Through a focused and disciplined search process, the team identified candidates with both proven leadership experience and deep familiarity with Lutheran education and ministry. Clear communication, thoughtful evaluation, and close collaboration with the board helped ensure confidence and alignment throughout each stage of the search.

The result
That leader was Dallas Lusk.
Dallas brought more than a decade of experience in Lutheran education and ministry, most recently serving as Executive Director of St. Mark Lutheran Church and School in Houston. In that role, he led both church and school operations, strengthened financial systems, expanded enrollment, and helped align multiple teams around a shared mission.
From the beginning, Dallas demonstrated a strong commitment to Christ-centered leadership, thoughtful stewardship, and the integration of faith and learning. His experience, theological grounding, and relational leadership style resonated deeply with St. Luke’s vision for the future.
Both Dallas and St. Luke’s leadership experienced clarity and confidence throughout the process, affirming a shared sense of calling and readiness for this next chapter.
Conclusion
We celebrate with St. Luke’s Lutheran Church & School and with Dallas as he steps into this role as Superintendent. Helping churches and schools identify leaders who are aligned in faith, values, and vision is central to our work, and this search reflects the impact of a careful and mission-minded process.
